Throughout this giving season, Magellan Search & Staffing is showing our support for families facing cancer by raising funds for For Pete’s Sake Cancer Respite Foundation (FPS). FPS addresses the psychosocial and emotional needs of the young adult cancer patient population and their loved ones. Working with oncology professionals at over 100 hospitals and cancer centers, they provide transformative respite experiences to cancer patients (ages 24-55), their caregivers and their children. They offer their families emotional support that assists them as their journey with cancer continues.

Magellan is taking an active part in fundraising so Joe Harter and his family can take a break from cancer.

Joseph Harter, age 49, was diagnosed with B-cell lymphoma in May of 2018. His doctors at Sidney Kimmel Center say that Joe is a kind, thoughtful and positive patient who has been handling his treatments as best as he can. Yet recently his positivity has been replaced with guilt due to the impact that the cancer has made on his wife and two sons. Joe says that he is ready for a break from the responsibilities of chemo, to see his wife and kids live without fear of tomorrow, and to laugh together like they did before cancer intruded.

This break from cancer will allow him and his family to reconnect and relax. It will not only give Joe a break from treatments and appointments, but it will relieve his wife and kids from this tough and emotional time. Joe, his wife and two kids will travel to Davenport, Florida to get away from all that is cancer related.
