In June of 2018, my family was lucky enough to be nominated to take a break from cancer with a respite experience from For Pete’s Sake Cancer Respite Foundation (FPS). My husband, of 23 years, Angel and I along with our two boys Aden & Lucas traveled to Davenport, Florida with FPS. During our trip we visited Disney & Universal Studios and spent a week at a beautiful house with a pool. Sadly on September 18, 2018, Angel passed away surrounded by those who loved him dearly. My boys and I are so thankful to have these memories of our last vacation as a family, and we will be forever grateful to the For Petes Sake Family for making this happen for us.

For Pete's Sake Cancer Respite Foundation serves the adult cancer patient population with one specific focus, the focus of respite travel for those with all cancer types. We know the importance of travel for those of us not sick: the anticipation as we look forward to taking a break from daily life to live, love and laugh. Imagine your world has been rocked with cancer and since this diagnosis life has spiraled out of control. Days become packed with tests, treatments, tears and trying circumstances. And then, amidst the turmoil, your oncologist tells you about the chance to take a break from cancer.
