AmerisourceBergen is showing our support this holiday season for families facing cancer by raising funds for For Pete's Sake Cancer Respite Foundation (FPS). FPS addresses the psychosocial and emotional needs of the young adult cancer patient population and their loved ones. Working with oncology professionals at over 100 hospitals and cancer centers, they provide transformative respite experiences to cancer patients (ages 24-55), their caregivers and their children. They offer their families emotional support that assists them as their journey with cancer continues. 

AmerisourceBergen is taking an active part in fundraising so Frank Papasavas and his family can take a break from cancer.

Frank, age 42, was diagnosed with prostate cancer in August 2018. His doctors at Hackensack University Medical Center in New Jersey say that Frank and his family are doing the best that they can to handle this life-altering diagnosis. Cancer has quickly consumed so much of Frank’s time, energy, and attention due to tests and appointments throughout the last year.  With two little girls and a wife who have the fear of losing a father and a husband, Frank has been doing everything in his power to try and keep life normal.

Frank says, “My family has been by my side throughout this entire journey. There have been so many opportunities and activities that I haven’t been able to either attend or give my full attention to because I have been too tired or sick to fully enjoy or participate in these special events.”

A respite vacation would allow Frank to give something back to his family and ensure that 100% of his attention is devoted to them.

On January 8th, Frank, his wife, RoseMarie, and two daughters, Haley (10) and Isabella (6) will travel to the FPS Respite Vacation home in Davenport, Florida.. Please consider a donation to help us reach our goal of $5,000 – the cost of the respite!
