If our son Peter had lived, we would all be celebrating his 50th Birthday on November 28th. We invite you to join us in celebrating his life by donating $50.00 in his memory to his legacy, the “For Pete’s Sake” Charitable Foundation.

Many of you attended the fundraiser sponsored by his friends that covered the costs of sending Peter and Marci on a respite vacation to Nevis in the Caribbean, where he could recover from Chemo aftermath and together they savored precious days together. In his last days, Peter always thinking of others, spoke of that trip and his last wish was that we would establish a charity that would fund similar respite vacations for young adult cancer patients and their families. What started as “Crossing the Finish Line” has morphed into “For Pete’s Sake” Cancer Respite Foundation.

In twenty years, Peter’s dream has flourished. This past year 554 patients, caregivers and children traveled and just since June 226 patients and their loved ones have traveled to the Jersey Shore, Florida and the Poconos. The FPS staff, spearheaded by Marci, has fourteen members that plan and execute five events a year. Wouldn’t he be thrilled with this realization of his hope? Knowing Peter, the answer is a resounding YES!

November 28th will be a bittersweet day for us. Sweet memories of a beloved son coupled with bitterness toward the dreadful cancer that took him from us. It comforts us to honor his memory by helping other young adult cancer patients and their families.
